Abraham Lincoln Birthplace to Reopen Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek

Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is reopening the Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek starting the weekend of October 17, 2015. The site will be open to visitors every day from 8:30am to 4:30pm starting Saturday, October 17, 2015. It will be staffed by Park Rangers on Saturdays and Sundays only during the month of October.

The reopening of the site comes after a year-long project that saw many improvements at the site. Visitors will find a new ADA-accessible restroom facility along with new sidewalks, improved landscaping, and an expanded parking area.

“We are pleased to announce the reopening of the Knob Creek unit,” said Acting Superintendent David Wyrick. “We want to invite everyone to come and experience this wonderful part of our park. This has been a long time coming and the staff is proud to open this phase of the project to the public”
