Did you miss lunch?
Thanks to all our members who joined us for the chamber luncheon this week. We had a great turnout! Al Rider, President & CEO, with the Central Kentucky Community Foundation, shared with our group how they can offer people a way to help strengthen their local community by working with donors who want to make a lasting impact on their community through giving. The opportunity is within our grasp for LaRue County.
“Community philanthropy is about connecting the people, money, organizations and essential programs a strong community requires. Community philanthropy is the catalyst that brings the financial wealth of your community and the will of its people together.”
– Al Rider

Welcome to our newest member – Bluegrass Pipeline
The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce welcomes new member, Bluegrass Pipeline!
The Bluegrass Pipeline is a newly proposed project that will transport natural gas liquids, or “NGLs”—commonly used to heat homes, manufacture fertilizers and make adhesives and plastics among other things—from the Marcellus and Utica shale regions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio to the rest of the country.
Two of the nation’s leading energy companies—Williams and Boardwalk Pipeline Partners—have partnered to develop the Bluegrass Pipeline. The companies safely operate more than 40,000 miles of pipeline around the country already.
This is an exciting opportunity for Kentucky for many reasons, including new construction jobs, increased tax revenue for local communities, ability to attract new NGL dependent industries and the pride that goes with being part of securing America’s energy independence.

Great Community Events
It has been busy times here at the Chamber as we have transitioned from the candy of Halloween to the trees of Christmas!
If you missed all the Trick or Treat excitement on the Square…WOW! What a record crowd! We had over 70 costumed kids and adults participate in our Costume Contest. Special thanks to our judges this year Ricky Whitlock, Gordon Thomas, and Kyle Williamson. They definitely had their work cut out for them this year. Thanks to Marsha Duncan, our wonderful MC, and her volunteer high schools students who assisted us for the costume contest. Thank you to the Awards Center in Elizabethtown for sponsoring the awards this year. The additions of inflatables by First Baptist Church and food vendors, Makin Memories and Adams Family Foods, added more fun to the festivities. A big thank you to all the businesses and organizations that participated and gave candy to our massive crowd; we could not have done it without you.
