It has been busy times here at the Chamber as we have transitioned from the candy of Halloween to the trees of Christmas!
If you missed all the Trick or Treat excitement on the Square…WOW! What a record crowd! We had over 70 costumed kids and adults participate in our Costume Contest. Special thanks to our judges this year Ricky Whitlock, Gordon Thomas, and Kyle Williamson. They definitely had their work cut out for them this year. Thanks to Marsha Duncan, our wonderful MC, and her volunteer high schools students who assisted us for the costume contest. DATE CHANGE for Costume Contest and Trick or Treat on Lincoln Square!
Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce’s Trick or Treating on the Square and the Halloween Costume Contest have been moved to Friday, November 1st. This coincides with the city of Hodgenville and LaRue County’s decision to reschedule community wide trick or treating.

Inflatables and our food vendors: Adams Family Foods and Makin’ Memories will be on hand to add to the festivities. We look forward to seeing your ghosts, goblins, princesses, and more downtown Friday evening.
It’s time for the Chamber’s Annual Trick-or-Treat on Lincoln Square and Halloween Costume Contest.
Trick-or-Treat on Lincoln Square provides the community with a safe place to bring children on Halloween. The City of Hodgenville will be blocking off streets around the square to give the children safe and easy access to all stops. Volunteers from LaRue County High School are on hand to help escort our children around. Trick-or-Treat time is set for 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 31st. Set up for tour stops will be 5:00pm-6:00pm.
Do you have kids? Bring them to our Costume Contest starting promptly at 5:30pm! Registration starts at 5:00pm. This year we have added a Family/Themed Group Category! See the attached application for categories, pre-registration and late application fee deadlines. Applications with payment can be dropped off at the Chamber office and the LaRue County Herald News. Special thanks to The Awards Center in Elizabethtown for sponsoring our awards for our winners.
What’s new this year? First Baptist Church will be adding an inflatable bounce house, inflatable obstacle course for kids, cornhole and several carnival style games.
